Why do I need multiple SIP trunking lines for my business?

You will need one SIP trunk line for each potential call occurring simultaneously within your business. So, for example, if you want your business to be able to accommodate up to twenty calls at a time, you will need to have at least twenty SIP trunking lines.

Do I need to update my phone hardware in order to use VATRIX SIP trunking?

Not necessarily, although we do work with Yealink to provide you with the best service possible.

After the chosen ring timeout, will calls default to voicemail?

Yes, unanswered calls within the specified timeout will go to voicemail.

What is SIP ALG, and should it be on or off?

The vast majority of the time, SIP ALG (Session Initiation Protocol Application Layer Gateway) should be turned off. It helps VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) packets make it through a firewall. It was originally created as internet-based telephone systems emerged, but it now causes issues with the implementation of newer systems. To keep VATRIX running smoothly for you, it would be beneficial to keep this feature turned off.

What options do I have for softphone?

VATRIX’s softphone services provide a few different options. Please check with our customer service team to check out what's right for you. VATRIX’s Auto Attendant, though not a softphone, works with your existing physical phone or softphone and allows you to manage Presence, Transfers, Call Parking, Call Queues and more. VATRIX’s mobile app lets you access the full capabilities of the PBX while on the go. This should not be a complete replacement of an office softphone system but rather supplementary to it.
